Astana is the new capital of Kazakhstan, the 9th largest state in the world, located in the heart of the Eurasian continent. The city is located in the north of the Kazakh upland Sary-Arka. The Yesil River and several of its small right tributaries flow through the city. The main idea of Astana development is the embodiment in the architecture of a combination of the rationality of the West and the sophistication of the East, the grandeur of Europe and the originality of Asia. In the construction of the city, in changing its appearance, the most advanced technologies and innovative methods of urban planning art of the 21st century were used. World-famous architects brought their best projects to life here. First of all, in its modern city center on the left bank of the Ishim River, there is the Expo 2017 Exhibition, the symbol of Kazakhstan and the renewed capital, the sparkling Baiterek, the Khan Shatyr entertainment center, the Nur-Astana Mosque and others. Especially for the “Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions”, the Palace of Peace and Concord was built – a unique building of a pyramidal shape.
